SALLY THE SPIDER: an enormous, science-education friendly, anatomically accurate house spider (Eratigena Atrica): ‘Sally’. See her first informal outing at Staff Bug Fest here- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4K8RuoDFhN4 (Video by the excellent Rafe Conn)
Sally is available to hire for museums and events. Enquiries to polyp@polyp.org.uk
She can be displayed either hanging from her own thread in a tall room, to avoid a large floor footprint, or horizontally on a stand. She has an impressive 4.3 metre legspan. Her successful museum debut was at EUREKA in The Wirral, UK, 2023… for Halloween, and her most recent at Norton Priory Museum and Gardens.
She comes with her own poster & PLI, and I’m also very happy to accompany her in character as
‘Professor Arachnid’ to talk fab spider facts, and about how she was built from 80% scrap materials.
